About Safety

Safety Do Icon 1

DO observe the Abrasive Wheel Regulations 1970. Wear protective clothing.

Safety Don't Do Icon 1

DON’T tilt the blade when cutting, this will cause centre fatigue and danger.

Safety Do Icon 2

DO ensure that the arrow on the blade corresponds with the direction of rotation of the machine spindle.

DON’T apply pressure and force on your diamond blade through the cut.
The weight of the machine will suffice.
INCREASED PRESSURE MEANS INCREASED WEAR, INCREASED HEAT AND DANGER.

Safety Do Icon 3

DO ensure that the machine bearings and spindle are not worn. Vibration causes excessive wear and danger.

Safety Don't Do Icon 2

DON’T let excessive heat be generated at the cutting edge of the blade. Let the blade run free at short intervals to allow for cooling.

Safety Do Icon 4

DO use the blade with a gentle reciprocating motion.

DON’T use your blade on metals or other unsuitable materials or use a damaged blade. If you have any doubt please contact supplier.

IMPORTANT
Diamond blades sometimes need “sharpening”. This is necessary if the cutting surface glazes over which can produce hot spots. Sharpen by running the blade through a soft/abrasive material such as aerated concrete or breeze block.

IMPORTANT
These are high performance blades. To achieve optimum output ensure that your saw is serviced regularly and that the air filter is clean.

IMPORTANT
Inspect the blade at regular intervals for damage to centre or segments. Do not use a damaged or worn out blade.
